JR Romero & Associates was established in 2003 by Dr. J Rocky Romero, LMSW with a focus on behavioral health program development, 

program evaluation, consultation and specialized training.

Suicide Summit

2015 - 2032 Suicide Summit in partnership with the Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC) and the State of New Mexico Office of Injury Prevention in Albuquerque, NM with a focus on sharing current data and strategies in reducing suicide and suicidality in our community.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: Talk Saves Lives for Latinx and Hispanic Populations

2022 - Developed a curriculum serving Latinx and Hispanic communities (Talk Saves Lives) in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the National Latino Behavioral Health Association (NLBHA).

Bilingual/Bicultural Behavioral Treatment Services (Fire Recovery Support Services)

2022 - Bilingual/Bicultural Behavioral Treatment Services offers program services to individuals identified as evacuees and victims of the forest fires and floods in five counties covered by the Governors Declaration of Emergency including San Miguel, Mora, Sandoval, Valencia and Lincoln counties. 

Northeast Regional Crisis and Treatment Center 

Participated in a community forum and consulted with the Mora, San Miguel, Guadalupe Local Collaborative (MSG4) and stakeholders to plan and implement a Regional Crisis and Treatment Center in the northeast regional area where addiction has affected the community in a negative light.

Latino Gang Prevention; The School to Prison Pipeline 

2021 -2022 Developed a Latino Gang Prevention curriculum, a trauma informed approach to working with gang-involved young adults utilizing critical race theory and social justice underpinnings in partnership with with Mental Health Technology and Transfer Center (MHTTC).

New Mexico Association for Addiction Professionals (NMAAP) President

Served as the President of the board with a mission to advocate on behalf of the additional workforce in New Mexico while providing training and networking opportunities to its members.
